THE EARLY YEARS
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
WHAT ARE THE EYFS ?

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a UK framework that sets out how young children from birth to age five should be cared for, learn, and develop. Its main idea is that children learn best through play, positive relationships, and supportive environments, while developing skills across areas like communication, physical development and emotional wellbeing. The EYFS was created by the department for Education to make sure all early years settings provide consistent, high-quality care and learning.

hOW DO I USE THE EYFS IN MY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM ?

I will implement the EYFS in my education program through carefully planned themed weeks that link learning across all areas od development. Each theme will be based on the children's interested and real life experience. They will allow children to explore topics in a fun, meaning way while ensuring leaning is balanced, inclusive and helping every child progress at their own pace.

LANGUAGE IMMERSION

how are the languages used daily?

The children I care for are immersed in both French and English daily. Through interactions, activities, and daily routines, they experience language while learning in a joyful way. I believe that a  bilingual exposure not only enhances their communication skills but also fosters a love for learning from an early age.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS ANOTHER SECOND LANGUAGE?

If your child has a second language, that's a wonderful opportunity! I adapt to every child's needs, recognizing that a child can learn more than two languages. The earlier they start to hear those languages, the better it is for their development. I will work closely with parents to ensure we meet the child's individual needs and, if necessary, learn a few words from the new language to support their learning process.
